Tribute To Steve C
Steve C (July 22, 1974 - July 11, 2012) was a producer for The Opie and Anthony Show. Steve was responsible for many of the on-air promos, commercials, and in-house prerecorded bits for the show, as well as some promos for Ron and Fez's show.
Firing:
According to Opie's Twitter page on September 6th, 2010:
"Steve C wasn't fired by Sirius. His position was eliminated! That's right folks they eliminated the Producer position of our show!"
DEATH:
On July 11, 2012, Steve C passed away. His death fell on his 1 year anniversary of being married to his wife, MJ. FoundryMusic.com and his Twitter had been inactive since early June 2012. A tweet from former WNEW co-worker Matthew Staudt, confirmed his death. Steve's death was revealed late in the day via Twitter on July 12. On July 13, the death was discussed on the show. No cause of death was ever revealed.
Due to his untimely death, O&A as well as comedians, fans and others helped raise over $50,000 for MJ, his 2-year old son and his family. Before his death, Steve had been let go after another station flipped formats and had been having stomach issues earlier in the year. RIP Steve. Grr.
